ECU Help 219 Relay non getting base conn
The dealer told me today i had a bad electrical relay 219 and need to replace information technology, told him will do IT myself since they were taking 4 years to get the part etc. They basically used a tie wind to make the electrical relay direct so the car would start. Instantly after replacing the 219 relay the car doesnt start, if i utilise the old bad relay thats direct it starts the car fine. Only problem with that is the fans come up on mechanically and drain the battery. The 219 relay has 2 positive connections and they some are ok, theres a small white wire with a black stripe and if i hand information technology ground (antagonistic link) the car starts straight up. And then essentially that thin white wire with a black streak should embody becoming ground when the firing is turned connected and its not doing so. What can equal causation this the ECU? you bet can I check if the wire going into the ECU is giving it the ground? what color wire would i be checking for that going to the ECU from the drive? I've opend the ECU and IT looks fine no water or burn marks. I attached a scan tool around and it gives me 2 codes p0112 and p00687. Any ideas rewarding!!!

I did a quick search and Check post #9
This also has good info virtually the electrical relay:
Baulk this tooEdit: Your get-go write in code p0112 pertains to your intake air temp sensor and the second one p0687<(I assume you put two 0's instead of one) is ECU magnate electrical relay circuit too high. The secondment encrypt explains why your relay blew.
I would check all the wires connecting to the relay with a multimeter to check what they are sending and what they are supposed to send.

Hi, thank you for responding. p0112 (intake air temp sensor) where eaxctly is this located?
Also, will be checking all the wires upcoming to 219 relay with voltmeter to run across what each is showing. The read the article you reffered to and i'm not sure i understand, i have 5 wires on the 219 relay 2 have power and 3 dont and apparently the cardinal of the wire deman ground connection from the ECU and its not acquiring that and thu it doesnt start.

The intake air detector is right after your throttle body connected your ingestion manifold. It should be on the firewall side of the intake manifold or at least is it is on my 02 a4 1.8t. It'll be itty-bitty and black and held on aside 1 Beaver State 2 allen surgery hex screws. When you take it out there leave be a small wire spouting down the middle of information technology. Sorry if that is confusing it's just off the top of my head. If you are still confused I can take pictures for you.
Yeah the second article was the unseasonable relay sorry. I'll get support to you on that after some R&D.
Not 100% sure on this but if the wire bighearted you a problem is a ground that goes to the ECU you might just be able to dry land it to something else equivalent the frame or any other fit ground because a ground is a ground. The only primary wires are the unceasing 12v and the 12v input. Unless the 12v ground you are speaking about is actually the 12v output. I'm gonna just go take a deal this relay in my car.

Re: ECU Help 219 Electrical relay not acquiring ground conn
HI, Thanks for helping. I've tried to ground that and everything whole shebang fine only aft you plough off the car the AC fans come on automatically draining the assault and battery. So manifestly this wire gets the ground connector from the electronic countermeasures only if after the ignition is ruttish the car. I believe its a ecm acting finished, my other ghetto option is to add an happening/off switch like a kill swicth in the car. Only thing im worried near is leaving it on and return determination the cars battery uncharged.

You could use another electrical relay that uses a 12v ACC power to turn the ground off and on.
